Christina Gruner Veltliner is a natural wine crafted exclusively from sustainably farmed 100% Gruner Veltliner grapes. The grapes are grown on a unique combination of red gravel and loess at the Holzweg vineyard.
The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered, with just a minimal addition of sulfur. It is a hazy medium-bodied Gruner from an organic winery helmed by a female vigneron, Christina Netzl. Gruner Veltliner is the primary white grape of Austria, and in the cool climate of Carnuntum it retains a lovely green note, like ripe kiwi and honeydew, with touches of yeastiness and salt.
The wine is fresh and expressive, with citrus, floral, and mineral flavors that linger nicely. It is delicious with green apple and pear notes, and pairs well with grilled chicken, sushi, cod, trout, and sardines.
