Cimarron Blanco Tequila – 750ml

Made by none other than tequila legend Enrique Fonseca, this is designed to be simply the greatest tequila for the value in the world. After tasting Cimarron, it is hard to argue with that bold claim. The tequila is shaped by an uncompromising approach: high elevation agave fields, meticulous cultivation, and complete control at every stage of production. From the first glance, you can feel the care that goes into selecting only ripe, mature agave, grown in mineral-rich soils and nurtured with a clear mission: extract pure, vibrant flavors without masking them. The proprietary yeasts used during fermentation contribute a nuanced bouquet, while the methods of crushing the agave—gentle yet thorough—maximize the extraction of sugars and character without pushing the process into harshness. Then comes a long, slow distillation that allows the spirit to evolve gracefully, layer upon layer, preserving delicate fruit notes, wisps of citrus, and a soft, floral backdrop that lingers on the palate. The result is a tequila that presents bright, alive notes—think clean agave sweetness balanced by peppery spice and subtle herbaceous hints—followed by a smooth, enduring finish that invites another sip. This is a tequila meant to be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, or in a thoughtful cocktail, and it belongs in everybody’s well, at everybody’s bar, and in everybody’s glass. No need to think twice here, folks; this is the real thing, and it delivers every time.

Corralejo Tequila Reposado – 750ml

Color: Light straw/gold. Nose: Right up front, you encounter a clean, herbaceous agave character, defining the glass in hand. Another pass, and you’ll get a slightly astringent medicinal note along with soft green fruit, unripe peach, and a hint of caramel. Vanilla and honey are present, but not in the overwhelming way they appear in many recently launched brands. Palate: It opens round and silken with just a hint of an alcohol or oak bite and a wisp of stone fruit. At the mid-palate, it is light-bodied, especially for a reposado, again with agave leading, overlain with pineapple and a hint of brown sugar. As you swallow, it’s once again pleasingly mellow and silky, exhibiting slightly sweet agave notes, perhaps even sweeter than expected. Finish: A lovely long finish of spice, herb, oak, jalapeño, and alcohol. Some may find the final astringent and alcohol notes a little off-putting, but for some they will be reminiscent of agave fields outside of the state of Jalisco, where unusual flavor profiles abound.

The result is a refined, full-bodied expression with elegant amber hues and a silky mouthfeel. Expect alluring aromas of ripe cherry, black plum, and a whisper of vanilla, followed by a palate that offers dried fruit, cacao, toasted almond, and a whisper of oak. The finish lingers with a balanced, graceful warmth and a touch of spicy sophistication. Tequila Corrido Añejo invites slow sipping, savoring its layered complexity and the artisan story behind every drop. Derrumbes Durango Mezcal – 750ml

Derrumbes Durango is produced with maguey Cenizo (Agave durangensis) in Nombre de Dios, Durango. This expression is part of the growing wave of mezcals emerging from Durango, a state that has long been associated with rustic, traditional distilling but is now gaining recognition for its diverse agave terroirs and distinctive profiles. Nombre de Dios, a town with deep roots in mezcal production, is increasingly establishing itself as a mezcal stronghold within the region, helping to elevate the reputation of the category beyond the more widely known centers. The mezcal in question was crafted by maestro mezcalero Urial Simental, whose work reflects a devotion to time-honored technique and a respect for the local agave landscape. The resulting spirit presents a careful equilibrium between sweetness and mineral character. Expect notes of ripe dark fruit mingling with herbal undertones, balanced by a signature mineral edge that speaks to the soil and climate of the high-desert environment. The production process—mature agave cooked, crushed, fermented, and distilled with attention to purity and balance—shines through in the final product, offering a smooth yet expressive palate. Overall, Derrumbes Durango stands as a thoughtful example of Durango’s current mezcal resurgence, marrying a classic approach to agave Cenizo with a modern sensibility and the distinct voice of Nombre de Dios. It is a solid choice for those exploring mezcal from this evolving corner of Mexico.

Derrumbes San Luis Potosí Mezcal – 750ml

Derrumbes San Luis Potosi is an example of a very particular style of mezcal crafted in the high altitude Central Mexican Plateau, in the state of San Luis Potosí. This mezcal is made from the region’s wild agave Salmiana, giving it a unique, vibrant flavor. Certain bottles list agave Crassispina as the subspecies. Despite its abundance, this type of agave has a very low yield. The mezcalero needs up to four times as much of it to create an equal amount of spirit when compared to the blue agave used in the tequila region. Grown in calcareous soils, this mezcal terrifically showcases its terroir characteristics, with chalky notes very evident in the flavor profile. Produced in an old traditional hacienda, above ground ovens known as hornos are used to cook the agave which mean their mezcal is not smoky. Once cooked, the agave is crushed by a tahona, fermented naturally with wild yeast, twice-distilled in small copper pot stills, and bottled around 43% ABV.
